Classical
As a classical musician Ellen has worked with many string quartets including Midlands based Enigma String Quartet. Recent performances have included works by Moeran, Schubert, Vaughan Williams and Haydn. Regular engagements with various quartets for weddings, conferences, dinners and awards ceremonies playing various styles from classical though to jazz, pop and folk. Recently she worked with international virtuoso violinist Rimma Shushanskaya in the opening concert of her Virtuoso Violinist string course held in Stratford and recently organised and performed with Enigma on Simon Mckeown's Channel Four WW1 commemoration Ghosts.
Live
Ellen toured the UK with Smokey Robinson as part of his on stage string section culminating in an outdoor concert at Rochester Castle. She toured extensively with Oasis tribute band 'Wonderwall' as part of their string quartet and played in the Micky Greaney band for several years with shows at Ronnie Scotts in London and Birmingham and the Orange Club in London. Most recently She appeared as part of a 8 piece string section on stage at Symphony Hall with Roy Wood (well known for the Christmas hit "I wish it could be Christmas every day") and The Proclaimers as well as a Christmas time special with the fantastic Imelda May at the Glee Club in Birmingham.
Studio recordings include working with Richard Hawley on his 'Ladies Bridge' album from which a track was used in the world wide famous 'Simpsons' cartoon.
Film and TV
The episode 'cheek to cheek' of the daytime soap opera 'Doctors' features Ellen with Enigma String Quartet as part of the plot line giving a concert in a local library. Again with Enigma, Ellen recorded on the soundtrack to Debbie Isitt's British comedy film 'Nativity' and most recently was musical director and performer on the soundtack to a short animated film 'Ghosts' by Simon McKeown commissioned by channel 4.
Education
Vast experience of working in education across the board from Infants to adult and SEN delivering individual group and class teaching. Special subjects including sport, Indian/Bollywood music and early years key stage 1 & 2 book themed workshops can be delivered amongst others. Ellen currently provides services to Tees Valley Music Service.
Sport
Ellen performed with the Dil Se Strings, a Bollywood themed string quartet, for the engagement party of Amir Kahn in 2012. Over a thousand guests were in attendance and the whole event was covered by Hello Magazine. Milan Mandaric, owner of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, had the string quartet perform and entertain guests at a private dinner function held at the clubs banqueting suite.
Venues
From city centre hotels to country manor houses such as Chatsworth House, small concert halls to larger concert halls like the Royal Albert Hall, and Birmingham Symphony Hall. Festivals and marquees, school halls, village halls, and churches, most venues are easy to work in with the right combination of instruments.
